Kelly Hennessy L.L.B., B.A.
I am a barrister and solicitor. I graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor in Laws in 1997 and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in NZ & Pacific History) in 1996.
I have since practised law in Tokoroa, Northland and Nelson working in employment, youth, family and criminal law, as well as civil litigation, Waitangi Tribunal claims and of course, conveyancing.
I bring a broad life experience to my law practice. Before qualifying as a lawyer I worked for 16 years as a prison officer and several more years as a Policy Advisor with the Department of Corrections.
I am a down-to-earth person and I try to make my clients feel comfortable in their dealings with me. Wherever possible I use plain English to explain legal matters and clearly summarise what you can expect of me before I begin work for you.
